Ingredients:

- 8 oz chow mein noodles


- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil


- 2 cups mixed vegetables (such as bell peppers, cabbage, and carrots), julienned


- 1 onion, thinly sliced


- 2 cloves garlic, minced


- 2 tablespoons soy sauce


- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce


- 1 teaspoon sesame oil


- 1/2 cup chicken or vegetable broth


- Optional: 1 cup cooked chicken, shrimp, or beef

Method:

- Prepare Noodles:

- Cook the chow mein noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

- Stir-Fry Vegetables:

- Heat vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over high heat. Add the onions and garlic, stir-frying until fragrant, about 1 minute.


- Add the julienned vegetables and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until they are just tender.

- Combine Ingredients:

- If using protein (chicken, shrimp, or beef), add it to the pan and stir to combine.


- Add the cooked noodles, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and broth. Toss everything together and stir-fry for an additional 2-3 minutes until the noodles are heated through and evenly coated with the sauce.

Notes:

- For a vegetarian version, omit the oyster sauce and substitute with more soy sauce or a vegetarian oyster sauce.


- Adjust the amount of soy sauce and sesame oil according to taste preferences.
